About Me

Hi! I’m Tina Horn

My husband and I moved to Columbia in 1999 so we could raise our son in a vibrant, diverse neighborhood. Wilde Lake is a special place and I love it here because it’s the embodiment of the Rouse vision: “a garden for growing people.”

I’m proud to have worked at Enterprise Community Partners, Jim and Patty Rouse’s affordable housing finance intermediary, formerly known as the Enterprise Foundation, for nearly 10 years. I’m also proud of my 20-year career in association management.

I’m a dedicated community activist, from Cub Scouts and the PTA, to People Acting Together in Howard (PATH) and Leadership Howard County. I’m always seeking to make our community better. I currently serve on the Howard County Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday Commission and as the former First Vice Chair of the Community Advisory Council of the Howard County Public School System (CAC).

My family worships at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Columbia (UUCC), where I’m an active participant on our Black Lives Matter team.

Why I’m Running:

I am running for CA Board in Wilde Lake because I believe in Columbia. Columbia was created to be a place for all people, a city on the hill, and a “garden for the growing of people,” as Jim Rouse envisioned. I am running to enhance the vibrancy of our community. As we spent time at home, many of us realized what a special community Columbia is. We also realized that we need to step up to keep it special.

I want to make sure that our community is not just special for us, but it is special for the next generation of Columbians as well.

I pledge to:

  • Help protect and enhance the built and natural environment in Wilde Lake
  • Work with CA to further develop safe spaces for youth to safely gather and grow
  • Assist community partners to support our residents, particularly our most vulnerable Wilde Lake residents.

I can only do this with your help. Vote Tina Horn on April 23rd for CA Board.
